Intelligent solutions were the main attraction at VISION.LOGISTIK.4.

Under the heading “Intelligence”, our fourth VISION.LOGISTIK took place on Nov-2018. Around 300 guests from science, universities, industry, interest groups, chambers of commerce, associations and regional authorities discussed intelligent solutions for logistics and the supply chain in the Börsen-Saal of the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event series VISION.LOGISTIK. is a joint initiative of the logistics division of the TH Cologne and the specialist agency HERZIG in cooperation with the IHK Cologne. After the opening by Dr. Ulrich Soénius, IHK Cologne, and Prof. Michael Lorth, TH Cologne, moderator Werner Geilenkirchen, HERZIG, welcomed the two speakers of the keynote lecture, Christian von den Brincken, Ströer Media, and Dr. Michael Bartl, HYVE. Their contribution marked the red thread for the entire event, the technically and socially sensible cooperation between man and machine.

The program also included lectures by Michael Schwemmle (INFORM), Christoph Lieth (Cogista), Marcel Wilhelms (Ehrhardt + Partner Consulting), Gerald Hirt (HVCC), Christian Kühnhold (Smart City Loop), Prof. Michael Lorth and Serena Nüsing (TH Köln).

In addition to the possibility of direct feedback via the smartphone, the participants will also use the final discussion for lively expression of opinion. General tenor: The potential of intelligent (technical) solutions is overwhelming; but we also have to master the social and data protection challenges of using artificial intelligence (AI). The most important message: In addition to all the great visions, we also need applications that can be implemented quickly and pragmatically for the many medium-sized players in the supply chain.
Rudolf Behrens, expert for Collaboration 4.0, particularly liked the interactive concept of VISION.LOGISTIK: “It was an innovative, captivating and competent event with a dedicated auditorium; this proves the intensive debate”.

The series of events will be continued in 2019; the theme of Vision.Logistik.5: Smart City. The thinking metropolis.
